What common carpentry tool was apparently brandished by pint-size Mancunian oddball Ian Brown, during the reunion fallout between him and fellow Stone Roses drummer-extraordinaire Alan ‘Reni’ Wren, thereby destroying the fairytale resurrection of the baggy four-piece?

A mallet?

I’ll give you that. Allegedly he lost the plot and went at Reni with a claw hammer. Nice chap.

Honestly, considering I was deciding between a hammer and a mallet I’m not sure I should get the nod for that. I’m sure there are plenty of tradespeople out there who would balk at the suggestion that they’re interchangeable <laugh> Do you want to ask another one, Prop?
