Rocket is an herb. Tony Drago is the Boss. Tony Soprano is known as Big Ron and Don Antonio.

Good thinking. Rocket isn’t the correct herb here. Although you have just mentioned the correct word I have in mind for ‘boss’.
Think Italian, for both the herb and the boss.

Not Reardon.
Little pointer. Once you’ve solved the herb and the boss, you won’t immediately see a player’s name. You’ll need to suss out the player from what you get.

It it's not Allan Taylor, it must be Nigel Bond.

It's been many years since I have heard Nigel Bond called 'Basildon Bond', but they used to be a popular maker of writing paper (might still be, I don't know). Russ Abbot didn't help Nigel either.

You’re right, of course
I don’t know anyone that actually refers to Bond as ‘Basildon’, but for the purposes of the quiz (and the fact the Wiki page on snooker nicknames notes it) it worked.
All yours, mate

Heart could be ‘organ’ so maybe Darren Morgan. Not sure about the M, though.

It is not Darren Morgan, Tatiana Woollaston (are referees allowed?) or David Roe.
Prop has correctly guessed what type of clue it is.

Mark Williams?
Beamer/beemer/bimmer is a nickname for a BMW. The heart/centre of BMW is the M. Starting with the M you get the initials MW - Mark Williams. Feel like there should be a J in there, though!

It is not Mark Williams, but you are very close. I think if you combined your two guesses you would have the answer.
