None right so far.
LDS is bang on with the Favourite connection, but Stuart is not the intended answer.

Not Oliver Lines. The clues only point to the player's first name, as they have a unique name among pros.

No, none of the Davisises. Craig David is the wrong Criag to look for, find the right Craig and the answer should be obvious.

At the moment the only Rushes I can think of are Ian, and I can't think of any snooker Ians & Linburg & there aren't any snooker Linburgs, so it probably isn't related to a name but rather being in a rush. I have lots of things in mind for Magnum though. Magnum is such a great word, one of those rare words where all it's meaning have an air of cool about them. Anyway, I'll get back to this later.

Ronnie O'Sullivan
The film Rush is directed by Ron Howard.
Magnum P.I.'s middle name is Sullivan.

Wow, that is a great guess! But that's not the player I'm looking for. It has nothing to do with the film Rush.

Neal Foulds.
Neil Peart is in the band Rush and Magnum is a brand of paper folding machines.

Another good one! But again not what I'm looking for! This idea has more options than I thought.
Neil Peart though
RIP

Well you both got one part almost correct, but were looking in the wrong direction for the other part.

I'll combine the two and go for Alex Higgins then.
Higgins is Magnum P.I.'s ever present friend & Alex Lifeson is one of the founding members of the band Rush.
(I notice another, lesser, founding member called John as well, so might as well say John Higgins as well).
