Yes! It was Marco Fu.
Penn & Teller make a show called 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us', in which magicians perform an illusion and P&T have to figure out how it was done. If they cannot do so correctly, the participant receives a Fool Us trophy, which is essentially a big 'FU'. The
emoji in my last post was also a clue.
Your turn McManusFan!

Merino Boy
I haven't thought about the boy part of the clue, but with Merino there Ben Woollaston immediately jumps out.

Sanderson Lam?
Same sort of logic; lambswool > lamb> Lam
And Boy could be the ‘son’ part of Sanderson, or the fact a lamb is a baby/boy sheep.

Correct!
There were a couple of ways to do this one.
Merino (a type of sheep) boy (child) -> Lamb -> Lam
Also, you could have had (San) Merino boy (son) which gets you pretty close to Sanderson.

Scores update as we circle round 100 pages:
(Previous position in brackets)
No.1 - Prop (4) - 43 wins
2. LDS (1) - 29
2, Chen (2) - 29
4. Iranu (5) - 27
4. Alf (6) - 27
6. McFan (3) - 16
7. Judd (7) - 4
8. Holden (new) - 2
8. Bentley (new) - 2
10. HC (8) - 1
10. Mantrk (8) - 1
Since the last scores update, prop has won the most with 31 new wins, closely followed by Alf with 22 and then Iranu with 16 and Chen with 15, LDS just 10 and McFan slowing to only 3.
Nice to see some new players and hopefully they'll get a few more over the next few dozen pages.

Ally McCoist is the most famous McCoist, so I'll go with either Ali Carter or Shokat Ali, well, to get them out the way anyway.

You’re correct. Although you found it without identifying the clue… Bill Beaumont and Ally McCoist were both captains on Question of Sport, and snooker’s captain is Ali Carter.
Probably not my best work

I did immediately think of Bill Beaumont & I couldn't decide whether to go for Bills or Alis. I had no idea McCoist was opposite BB, I thought BB was opposite Emlyn Hughes. BB must have been on long enough to see off many, many oppositions.
Next clue:

Beaumont had retired by the time McCoist was on board. Super Ally was mostly opposite a certain John Parrott.

Yep, I just picked two of the most recognisable captains. Pretty sure they had the most appearances between them.

I'll have a long and fandangled guess at Eddie Charlton.
Ted Lowe to make Edward & Athletic to mean energy.
