Right now!

This was going to be all distances in miles, but I couldn't think of enough songs, so made it up with other imperial units. From shortest to longest:

1. One Inch Rock
2. The Chain
3. Five Miles Out
4. Eight Miles High
5. 25 Miles
6. 60 Miles An Hour
7. I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
8. A Thousand Miles
9. 2000 Miles
10. 2000 Light Years From Home

Oh, I only decided to be picky after the first few answers. I've gone back to not being picky again now. I'm very unpredictable like that.

Let's get this moving. Here are some clues that should make the remaining ones fairly easy.

1. is a transitional single by a band who began in psychedelic rock, but shortened their name and moved into glam rock later in their career. They recorded versions of this song in both incarnations.

3. is by an artist whose success was largely responsible for making Richard Branson very rich.

5. is by a Motown artist primarily known for a hugely successful song with a one word title that begins with the letter W.

6. is a relatively late-era single by a band who began (under a different name) in the post-punk scene but later moved more into dance music.

KrazeeEyezKilla wrote:1 Tyrannosaurus Rex

is also correct. As mentioned, they also recorded it in their later T. Rex incarnation, so either would have done.
