It also preceded the inclination to ‘bury a hatchet’ I do believe; once an enemy, always an enemy to our Alex

Not Murphy, though he would definitely make such a statement.

This player had a ‘feud’ with another top player that was hyped by, in particular, Neal Foulds into more than it probably was.

Marcel Gauvreau? Had a bit of a spat with Frank Jonik over who had the better name, and Foulds tried to goad them into settling it with a fistfight, if I remember correctly :chin:

I'm afraid not. The missing word isn't a player.

“Drinking”

Some administrator, maybe Rex Williams when he was chairman of the WPBSA? :chin:

“Cheating”

Tony Knowles? :chin:

(I’m thinking of the John Parrott incident)

How tough was it when you fell off tour back in 2020?

“Ultimately I had to surrender my tour card. I had an outside chance at the World Championship and I had Q School after that. I would have been match sharp for Q School having had two seasons on the tour behind me. When I was told I wasn’t able to play and I wasn’t able to travel from _____ _____, I lost a bit of passion for the game. I was wondering where I could go from there. The pandemic was getting worse and worse, so I reached a stage where I didn’t know what to do. I was even considering seeking pastures new away from snooker."

I think Hong Kong is the missing word but I'm not too sure about the player.

Re: Who Said That?!

Postby Juddernaut88

Are the words Hong Kong correct? We may need some clues on the player please.

Re: Who Said That?!

Hong Kong is correct.
Clue: The player represents Hong Kong

Re: Who Said That?!

The only player from Hong Kong I can think of is Marco Fu but I doubt it's him.

I think it’s ‘cut his throat’

Not sure who said it though, or about whom; possibly Graham Miles for the latter :chin:

Cut his throat is correct and it was indeed about Graham Miles.
