He never faced Alex Higgins in the final of a Ranker, but did lose to him in the 1989 B&H Irish Masters, Alex’s last title win, but that was an invitational...

He lost 8-10 to Matthew in the 2003 UK
and 5-9 to Ding in the 2005 China Open; both were the only time he met each opponent in a Ranking final.

2003 UK championship final hurts :( Then the 2005 china open final I woke up around 7am to watch the final, Hendry was 3-1 up then it all went wrong and young 18 year old Ding stunned him.
