No. Ebdon and Fu have played each other twice at the Crucible. The famous meeting was their first, the semi-final of 2006. Fu, a qualifier, trailed 9-15 going into the final session but Ebdon only fell over the line after a decider.

Ten years later, they met again; 14th seed Fu demolished a fading Ebdon 10-2, on the way to his only other one-table appearance, where he fell 15-17 to eventual champion Mark Selby.

Paul Hunter and Marco Fu never played each other at the Crucible.

They only faced each other three times, and two of those were in the Premier League!

Two Crucible meetings for Matty & Marco, both in 1st round encounters : in 2012, it was a comfortable win for no.15 seed Matthew by 10-3. The following year, qualifier Marco got his revenge with a 10-7 triumph. Neither match was a debut for the Hong Kong star though.

Not John Higgins. He and Fu have played each other on multiple occasions but, surprisingly, never at the Crucible.

Not Angles. He and Fu haven’t met that often but two of their encounters were at the Crucible :

In 2003, they met in the 2nd round and Fu - who was a qualifier that year - eased to a 13-7 victory over 15th seed McManus
Three years later they met in the 1st round, and it was and even more emphatic triumph for qualifier Fu, 10-3

And for good measure, 2 years after that they did battle in the final qualifying round for the right to play at the Crucible and Fu repeated the 10-3 hammering. He really did have Angles’ number, winning 8 of their 11 encounters overall.

Not Steve. He and Fu have met surprisingly little - only 10 times in total - mostly in League formats, of various sorts. They have never contested anything longer than a BO11

No Crucible meetings for messers King & Fu.

Parrott & Fu only played each other twice; 1998 in Thailand, and in the 2004 UK. John won both meetings.

Not Mr. O’Sullivan; one meeting at the Crucible for these two - resulting in a 10-6 triumph for underdog Marco in 2003, despite a 147 against him. It was not his Crucible début, though

One Crucible meeting fro KenDo & MarCo; 2006 QF, Fu won a thriller 13-10 to advance to the one table set-up. Needless to say, it was not his debut year.

Fu and Hamilton have contested two Crucible first round matches; in 2000, 10th seed Hamilton won 10-4, and seven years later Anthony (still the seed - 16th) went one better with a 10-3 triumph.

2000 was not Marco’s début year but you’re getting closer - it was his second visit.

No Crucible meetings for these two, though Marco did win a qualifying round match in 2006 - by 10-7 - to book his place that year.

Lots of meetings for these two but, surprisingly, never on the biggest stage of all
