I was thinking about this last night, and I couldn't think of any footballers who specialise in either management or promotion, but particularly promotion.

I had a eureka moment when I though, oh, it's gotta be Alex Ferguson. But then you wouldn't have said Player.

Alex Ferguson was a player, for around half a dozen Scottish clubs in the 50s/60s, most notably Rangers.

But the answer here is probably somebody like David Beckham, who is pretty good at promoting himself
