No, Foulds was two years off his Crucible debut at the time in question.

That’s the fella <ok>

Francisco announced his arrival on the World stage with a 10-7 1st round dismissal of no.5 seed Dennis Taylor, and saw off fellow qualifier Dean Reynolds by 13-8 (maybe 13-9) in the last 16, before falling to the wily old Master, Reardon, in the last eight (8-13). Reardon, of course, went all the way to the final where he lost to Alex Higgins.

The year was 1982.

Give us a clue. Did he beat a ranking event winner?

Re: Never Ending Quiz

Not Bingham. The player he beat is someone that has won multiple ranking titles (less than 10 though) the player has also never won the world championship.

Not Kyren or Hawkins.
Another clue is the player is British but not English.
