The 15 year will he or wont he Jimmy story is an entirely unique scenario, unparalleled by any other and impossible to quantify via statistics. It's just damn religious, man.
Yeh from 90 to 92 especially, he had a buzz about him and it seemed the whole world was watching him and willing him on. Ok, 94 saw him get closest but I think he was playing overall better in 92.
Anyone who says he bottled it in 94 knows nothing about snooker. No man alive could’ve withstood the pressure he was under in the deciding frame. It wasn’t as bad for Hendry as he’d won it three times before — poor Jimmy had lost 5 finals and 4 in a row. Not to mention carrying the hopes of a legion of fans on his shoulders.

If you include Robbo then why not Murphy or Bingham?

Luca Brecel is an all time great. First world champ from mainland Europe. What he has achieved despite not coming from a snooker country is incredible.

Murphy is still better to watch over Robbo though. Much prefer watching him over Robbo!

I agree. When it clicks, he is poetry in motion. The only other player so fluent was Stephen Lee.
Just a shame their personalities are such acquired tastes

They’re both not great to watch. Robbo’s robotic and Murphy’s full of needless flourishes.

I predict a new Robbo, if he continues his Hong Kong form he's the man to beat, knowing his previous Crucible record be a real test of his abilities.

A new Robbo?
Is that like when they replace the actor on Doctor Who?

Don’t ever be tempted to watch one of Murphy’s ‘In The Frame’ YouTube videos. It really makes you appreciate watching him play professionally. The joke about him commentating on his own games has become reality.
FWIW, I’m with Ed. One of the best ever at getting through the white.

The English language alone is not enough for me to convey just how much that is not an issue.

Nope he only won his world title by having the easiest draw in history, only having to play one top 16 player (Carter).
All his moaning about they need to move from the Crucible proves he got lucky.
The only things Robertson is an all time great at is moaning and having a stupid haircut.

I think Kyren's draw last year was easier.
Neil's draw in 2010:
Fergal O'Brien
Martin Gould
Steve Davis
Ali Carter
Graeme Dott
Kyren's Draw in 2024:
Dominic Dale
Joe O'Connor
John Higgins
David Gilbert
Jak Jones

Seven World Titles combined in Robertson's opponents.
Only five in Kyren's.

Ronnie really should have won last year, with a draw of
Jackson Page
Ryan Day
Stuart Bingham
Jak Jones
Kyren Wilson
