If they are convicted of whatver it is they are accused of doing, is it possible that Yan Bingtao and Zhao Xintong could end up being relegated and have to enter Q School next season?

If both are acquitted, they should be able to keep their points and participate in the Main Tour normally next season.
If they are banned for a certain period of time and gradually lose their world ranking points, they will have to re-qualify, for example, through the Q school.

yes, the points earned this season would not be enough to stay in the top 64. assuming any suspension would cover all or a significant part of next season, they would have limited or no opportunities to add to their current tally.
as far as entering q school, they would need to have served their suspension and paid any fines by then in order to do so.

They won't be acquitted, as they have already admitted to some of the charges. The length of the bans will depend on whether the time they have already been suspended it taken off, if some portion of the ban is 'suspended', and if bans for different offences are concurrent. If Zhao was aware of match-fixing going on, then he could be in a similar situation to Jamie Jones, who was banned for 12 months, but he also appears to have bet on matches, which carries a 6-month ban. We might see him at Q School in 2024, or more likely 2025.
Yan's situation is more serious.

I always feel sorry for those finishing in 65th, £100 short of Top 64 and missing out even with some banned players taking up places they won't use.
Mark King is another - who might be lucky to keep his place for another season. Depends on wins at the World Championship for those around him
