I guess that was Selby in 13/14.
Lost Uk final and Masters final but won the WC.
Ronnie reached all TC finals in 2014 though. Won masters and the UK, lost the WC final.
Any chance Ronnie can reach at least the final in both the Masters and the Worlds?

It's worth noting that Ronnie has never made it past the SF at the Masters in the 6 seasons in which he won the UK. But I think he has a great chance of doing better than that this season...

Good post D4P and welcome.

Him not playing the Scot Open might have done him a favour.
I know he has a long time to rest whether he played in that or not, but at least he's on the back of a win, and not a loss like last season v Higgins.

Despite Ronnie's bad record at The Masters when he just won the UK, it's way more likely that he reaches another Final here than the World Champs.
Not even making the one table setup since 2014 is bad enougn in itself.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.
I agree that skipping the Scottish Open was probably a good idea for Ronnie, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him start skipping more of the Home Nations events going forward.
When Ronnie's in this kind of form it's hard to ever imagine him losing, but I felt that way going into last year's Masters too. Hopefully he feels better at this year's event than he did last year...
