Judd is the World Champion

Hi guys, just want to gauge people's thoughts and let you know that Judd Trump is the World Snooker Champion because he won the most recent edition of the World Snooker Championship. This is a tournament that takes place annually at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, United Kingdom.

The tournament – regarded as the most prestigious in the sport – is currently sponsored by Betfred and takes place over 17 days' play, traditionally ending on the first Monday of May.

Judd Trump qualified for the final of the 2019 edition having defeated Thepchaiya Un-Nooh (10-9), Ding Junhui (13-9), Stephen Maguire (13-6) and Gary Wilson (17-11). Having lost his only previous final in 2011 to John Higgins, Trump again had to face the Scotsman in the final for the first prize (£500,000).

Despite having a poor record against Higgins, Trump never looked back after moving into a 6-5 lead. From there he played some tremendous snooker and ended the match with seven century breaks as he ran out an 18-9 winner. Higgins himself played very well, hitting four centuries, and their combined 11 centuries represented a new record for a single match.
