1985 Matchroom trophy final: Cliff Thorburn 77--74(66) Jimmy White

In this 3 session best of 23 frame final Thorburn trailed 7-0 at the end of the first session and was 74-0 down with only 59 remaining in the first frame of the second session but he somehow won the frame and went on to prevail 12-10 on Sunday afternoon to claim the inaugural Matchroom trophy ranking event.

Absolutely right!

This was revenge for The Matchroom Trophy final a few months previous(see above post). Another 3 session final screened on ITV and this time it was White who got the required snooker on the final pink in the deciding frame and then rifled in the pink and black amidst wild celebrations!!

I didn't see that match, which is widely considered one of the best ever. I think I've explained this on my other countdown threads.

But I think I'll make an exception here because you are right.
