US Women's Open 2024

After a 2-year hiatus Ng On Yee is set to return to the main tour for the 2025-27 period. The most successful woman to have graced that tour during the Barry Hearn era (a 12% win record) begins this season with a significant 19000 advance over third-placed Rebecca Kenna on the provisional end-season women's rankings. With Reanne Evans, a further 125 points back, having opted out of competing in Seattle over the coming days Ng On Yee has an opportunity to extend her advance. A repeat final of 12 months ago against Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai (unimpacted by the end season women's rankings) appears the most likely outcome. Among a small field of 14 Anupama Ramachandran and Narantuya Bayarsaikhan, from India and Mongolia respectively, will be optimistic that they can further climb the rankings.

Hopefully the main action will be streamed as it was last year.

After edging her last group game against Narantuya Bayarsaikhan 2-1 (an entertaining encounter which merited a deciding frame) , Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai fell at the quarter final stage beaten 3-2 by Anupama Ramachandran.

The semi-final line-up later today features Ng On Yee versus Tessa Davidson (who defeated Narantuya Bayarsaikhan 3-2 in the quarters) and Anupama Ramachandran versus Rebecca Kenna.

Title for Ng On Yee, whose break-building and impressive 94.64% pot success rate in the final proved too strong for Anupama Ramachandran. Ng On Yee a step closer to returning to the main tour, Anupama Ramachandran a terrific tournament knocking out both Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai and Rebecca Kenna.
