but over the years there's been talk of draws being fixed to suit the sport but nobody can accuse the draw of being fixed this week.

I'm really gutted for Reanne. It was always going to be difficult for her to beat Robbo, but it'd have been massive for her. And it would have got people talking about the sport, I reckon.

Still thems the breaks, I guess.

I'm not watching it, but wouldn't be surprised. Often a mid-session interval can switch momentum, and now he's got a frame on the board, I think Judd will fancy it a bit more.

Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy and Judd Trump out before the last 32 in the old system they would have been seeded through.

i think this more than justifies the move to flat 128 gives younger players a genuine chance of making it Quicker.

I get what you're saying, and the television stations are somewhat guilty of showing the matches featuring old geezers rather than young up-and-comers, due to the belief players like Steve and Jimmy will get more viewers than players that many people may not have heard of.

At the same time though, Jimmy qualified, just like everybody else. And under new qualifying conditions that we're told are supposed to help the youth come through. If Jimmy White has qualified, and won a match at the venue that means he must be playing semi-well. At least better than any of the people he has had to play so far.

Nobody would disagree that we want to see youth come through. But if the youth aren't capable of beating a 51-year old Jimmy White, then do they deserve to be there? Jimmy has won all his qualifying games, and beat Ricky Walden yesterday, so has every right to be in the tournament. Age shouldn't have anything to do with it, if you've earned it you've earned it.

Peter Ebdon is at 31 in the Provisionals and with only the Rotterdam Open to come for him if he entered before the seeding update he could be out of the top 32 and having 2 Qualifying matches for Shanghai.
