Haha he's bitten
http://rocketronnie.net/viewtopic.php?f ... &start=100Firstly Davis missed the black to win so that's that one out the window.
Secondly Selby needed 21 points in snookers on the yellow. Theoretically that's 6 but in reality it's more like 4 factoring in free balls, higher valued fouls etc. However unlikely it may be it wasn't impossible, and when you have his shotmaking ability and when you think he won a frame from needing 5 snookers against Hendry at the Crucible then why not play on? He was perfectly within his rights to do so. The Hendry one was last frame of the session, this one was last chance saloon in a match he was about to lose which is when you tend to see players going for that many. Those are the times to play on for that many snookers, not in the middle of a session.
And having met him several times I can tell you he's not a lousy person at all, he's actually a sound bloke.
And yes you are completely obsessed with luck in snooker like no one else I've ever met. You think if a player pots a colour and smashes into the pack and a red goes down it shouldn't be a foul. Well duh. And if a player misses a pot on a 12ft x 6ft table, what are the chances of leaving a makable pot? Not as good as leaving a safe table I can tell you.
By the way I enjoyed Ronnie showing his battling qualities and he deserved to win although Ding missed a trick at 5-3 by not taking pink to middle and holding blue spot, but that's on him for not thinking of it.
Edit- oh right, now I'm being accused of supporting players who break the rules
