Robbie Williams back level with Pankaj from three frames down. Would really like Pankaj to win, not only so there's a chance of an Indian at the crucible but also because Williams winning knocks Donaldson out of the 64 meaning he has start from £0 next season.

Joe Johnson won the whole thing in 1986. I think he is of Indian heritage.

If Donaldson was knocked down to zero, it'd be particularly unfair given he didn't have the full two years as qualifying for 2 tournaments (Wuxi & Aussie?) had taken place by the time he joined the Tour ...
Edit (having originally misunderstood!!!)

...But eventually gets over the line 10-8. Good effort I suppose. Hope Ben beats him on Wednesday.

And Williams wins 10-7, knocking Scott Donaldson out of the 64. At least he's not dropping off the tour, I suppose.

Li Yan does it, 10-8 barring snookers. Means we're guaranteed one Chinese debutant at the Crucible.

I just looked at the beeb site, you know, by clicking all sports, then snooker and lo and behold, they're mentioning qualifying. Not in full of course, nor in detail but they mentioned it, outlining some of the former world champions who will be going into the final round of qually. Imagine promoting a sport a bit you can actually broadcast - strewth!

Interesting they mention Robin Hill who's due to face Peter Ebdon. Really snuck under the radar. Wasn't even aware he was a professional.
I wonder if he's met Finland's Robin Hull? They might get a laugh out of how similar their names are.
