Some good shots from Selby but bad position accumulates and he plays safe on 25.

He's playing the standard he played in his first match. It's been clear that this won't be enough against Selby.

According to most on the Island, he's the hot favourite to win.

5-1.
Good stuff from Selby, but let's not forget he had this lead against White...

Selby has been playing pretty well this afternoon, without hitting many top breaks, he has frozen Ali out and he can't going.
Ali needs to reduce to 5-3 now otherwise it may be hard for him to recover.

Dennis Taylor: "For the first time since 1997 Dominic Dale gets himself in to the second round at The Crucible".....
If this dinosaur focused more on snooker than golf he might know Dale reached the quarters in 2000.

If Selby carries on then he's become a contender here, maybe it's his record against Carter but whatever the cause he seems to have woken up.

This is why you can't really call these 3-session matches, a 6-2 first session can result in a 2-6 second session, so calling it now is pointless.

Don't you realise only 8 entered that year so he was never in the second round!
Anyway great performance from Dale.

And Ali pulls one back, barring snookers. Mark should aim to take the next and prevent Ali getting any more momentum.

I like the way the commentators say "that's end of frame", it's not until at least 6 snookers are required when it's Selby lol
