If Ronnie wins the next, 4 all is a massive bonus, but even 5-3 down wont be that bad.
Every player can have a bad session at the Crucible, including Ronnie.

Pretty good damage limitation job for the defending champ. Perry playing grade A stuff early on with a nice run of the ball to boot.

Who'd have thought 4-4 would have been a disappointing score for Perry at 7pm tonight?

It wasn't great last year either. He wasn't winning tournaments with his long potting, that's for sure.

Back now. Ronnie caused me a panic attack. Had to get some wine. What's happening. I can't bear to watch the tv.

Perry goes 5-3 up.
Hard work starts next session. Signs Ronnie is playing better, and he definitely won't play as badly as he did in the first five frame tonight.

Perry plays a little bit like Fu. Unspectacular, but rocksolid.

Perry wins the first session. I did NOT see that coming. Ronnie still favorite. Perry needs to win the first frame or two tomorrow. Not let Ronnie get in his stride.

Perry probably played at his best today, can't see him improving any more. It's more likely, that his level will drop to be honest.

Last time Ronnie lost a session 5-3, he won the opening six frames of the next session (against Robbo in 2012).
Hope that doesn't happen this time.

Ronnie was also 5-3 down against Robbo in 2012 first session and then ran away with the match in that session playing some awesome snooker.
I expect Ronnie to do something similar tomorrow, but even if he doesnt Ronnie wont play as bad as he did the first 5 frames today.
After 4-1 Im happy with 5-3 result.

To be honest, Joe Perry deserves to have a lead after this session, he was the better player tonight.
