Baic Motor China Open Last 128 Discussion

Saturday 14th ~ Sunday 15th at the Medrodome in Barnsley

It will be 10 years since China's number one player Ding Junhui won his first ranking event title at the age of 18 in his home country, back then in 2005 he defeated Stephen Hendry in the Final 9-5 which catapulted Ding to become a major star in China with all the titles that followed that victory.

Fittingly enough, Ding is the defending champion, but before the action moves on to China at the end of March, all 128 players are in Barnsley, where Ding will start his defense against Scotland's Ross Muir.

Also in the tournament is 5 times World Champion and current UK Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan who will be trying to make his 3rd trip to China for a ranking event this season, plus current Masters Champion Shaun Murphy will too be here, as well as the likes of Australian Open Champion Judd Trump, Wuxi Classic winner Neil Robertson and World Champion and very recently crowned German Masters Champion Mark Selby.

Who will reach the Last 64 and book their flight to China for the last ranking event of the season before the World Championships?

that 62 break though is probably one of the best I've seen for a long long time

First snooker I've seen this week. Might as well check how Luca's game is coming along.

Seems like safety shots will as common as dodos in this match from what little I've seen...

I've seen enough matches on Youtube from him in the 90s to say that is true. Funnily enough one of the few opponents Ronnie didnt go inyo kamikaze mode in the 90s was Hendry, Higgins as well.

Ronnie knew of course he couldnt, he has massive respect for both of them.

Yeah, to be fair to Luca, he hasnt played that bad, but like you said almost kamikaze Ronnie today is working :D cueing so so well today, hasn't made a ton yet but that 62 break in the 3rd frame is worth many tons indeed.

Postby AC or LT?

Some of the shots Ronnie's been taken on have been absolute madness, hope he turns up to the Welsh in this mood, the BBC won't be able to talk about his more improved mental game he's gone insane. That 62 break was flirting with disaster the whole way through. Luca not taking advantage of his opportunities in the latter of those three frames is the main reason Ronnie's 3-1 ahead.

dont worry, he wont play like this at Welsh

and even if he were, as long as he's winning matches, I dont care what type of game he plays.

That 62 break was as good as any ton, wonderful break that was, some of the shots he pulled, ok a bit kamimakze, but they went in, and that's what matters.

He's in good nick for Welsh Open 4th title.

always the same aint it <laugh> according to him, Ronnie was in decline after defeat to MJW and after that he won CoC and UK :spot on: decline allright...

Anyway, I would like Luca to win at least 2 more frames, just to make this more competitive.

I dont like my 2nd favourite player being beaten heavily, but if it happens, happens.
