Monday 30th of March ~ Sunday 5th of April at the Beijing University Students Gymnasium

To the delight of the home crowd Ding Junhui was playing something like his best in defence of his title as he advance in to the last 32, but last years Runner up Neil Robertson did not as he was beaten by Thailands Dechawat Poomjaeng in a Decider.

Also stil in is Mark Williams who is continuing with a great run hes having but no title of significant to show for it, will this week bring him some silverwere?

and surprise packages Elliot Slessor and Zack Surety playing in their very first Last 32.

Who will reach the last 16?

I disagree that Ding was back "playing something like his best" in his first match. He was still ordinary by his own high standards and was lucky that Campbell played like rubbish and gave him plenty of chances.

Pre-Crucible excuses being prepared early this year.

isnt that what Ronnie does every year this year no exception?

Selby too solid at the moment. Slessor isn't competing in the safety department and is struggling to make anything of the small half-chances that he's getting.

2-0 Selby.

Slessor had a good chance in that frame, but could only make 32 before poor positional play led to him taking on and missing a tricky black. After that Selby managed to controlled the frame with his superior tactical game.

3-0 Selby.

And why aren't you sleeping at 3 in the morning?

Working nights. Got nothing better to do in the office than to watch the snooker.
