Strikingly beautiful Stuart Bingham´s A game, where England tapers down to France, has the fastest cannons and in Basildon, the lion´s share of England´s high-end tourist industry.
Every year five-start pads with all the trimmings are opened in stunning locations - 2020 is no exception.

Basildon is a one-town tourist industry of its own. The "former bottler" Stuart Bingham posses now an A game that invites superlatives.

Stuart Bingham invites superlatives. In fact, when a foreigner thinks of Bingham, the image that likely springs to mind is that proud and pristine A game hardly is there always and an ever-present. And what happens when it isn´t there?
But the menu is vast and fish-oriented. Very reasonable considering the quality of service, presentation and the fare itself. All the greens get a look-in and the beer list runs to 150 varieties. If you´re going to splash out, do it here.

Life is....

:dive:
a beach.

Dead weight. :snooker:

So, instead of anything else, the people have just ONCE AGAIN realised something which also is real... Higgins lately did :snooker: him quiet easily...

Hawkins may not have won a World Title, but he's been far more consistent at the WC than Bingham.

Surely though, asking who is the more consistent player and asking who has the better A Game are two different questions?

True. I was just pointing out that Bingham has only played his A game once at the WC, whereas Hawkins has done it every year since 2012.

Although if Hawkins had played Murphy in 2013, instead of Ronnie, I think he'd be World Champion too.

Bingham and it's not close. Barry can't play his A game when it matters most. Only time was WGP and he still almost crumbled in the second session.

Said it before and I'll say it again Barry's a QF specialist.

That poll was decidedly inconclusive.

You could argue was for a different thing.

That one who was a better player, this is who has the better A-Game. They are not necessarily the same thing.

Player 1 might have a better A-Game than Player 2. But Player 2 might be more consistent, or might win more with their B-Game. Player 1's A-Game might only come through on very rare occasions.

The poll isn't about that, that would be a subject about who's the best when it matters most. My poll is about who has the better A game, regardless of where and when. Personally I've seen Hawkins play at a level above anything I've seen from Bingham, but others might disagree with that.

This exactly. I saw your thread the other day, and it gave me the idea to post this.

Oh yeah I agree. Just thought it was interesting that the last poll comparing them ended in a draw.

Still say Bingo. I think temperament is part of your game and Bingham’s is much better. Bingham’s a better break builder as well and when his safety and potting all comes together he’s really hard to beat.

Hawkins has a higher peak level. Bingham could never beat peak Robertson or peak ROS over a bo25 match like Hawkins did in the 2015/2016 World Championship.

However. Hawkins as we know is very inconsistent and his level can drop extremely at anytime. Thats why Bingham is a World Champion and Hawkins isnt.

I agree with all of this except that Ronnie was at his peak in 2016. From a potting/breakbuilding he was but his safety was awful. I’ve never seen someone hit the middle jaws from safeties so often in one match.

Barry definitely has a higher peak than Bingham though.

I agree. If Ronnie had tightened up his safety in 2016, I'm certain he would have won the WC that year. That was the best he's looked since 2014.

Re: Hawkins vs Bingham - Who's A game is better?

I also think that 2016 puts a question mark against the notion that Ronnie has a particular problem playing at the WC. He was in great shape that year, he just wasn’t tight enough.
