When was his career finished?
His career certainly wasn't finished but he hadn't won a big title for while and there were some questions marks after his UK walkout.

Restarted? He was by far the best player in the world at the time of winning that Masters, and had been for about a year.

The long red was reminiscent of the one he knocked in against Selby at the Welsh Open last year, when he couldn't find a safety shot.
Hawkins or Perry can beat O'Sullivan tomorrow, although I feel Hawkins is the more likely. I don't know if Perry's "I don't care anymore" attitude will be enough to overcome O'Sullivan.

When he won the Masters in 2007 he hadn't had won any ranking/proper title for two years or so at that point. I think, the last one being the Irish Open in 2005.

In fairness to Marco, that's two major semis in a row that a bit of bad luck has made the difference and cost him the match.
But make no mistake, that break needed a hell of a lot of making by Ronnie.
Agreed. I consider Marco the best player out there by quite a margin right now. That's exactly why Ronnie is overexcited about his win and rightly so. The turning point was the premature interval IMO and not that red with the rest. Marco had started to flow, terribly unlucky to stop the game at that point. If he keeps it like this he's going to the worlds as one of the big favorites to win it.

Ding was the favourite going into the final in 2007. Ronnie hadn't won a big title for 1,5 years at the time.

My apologies. I was thinking of 2005. And yeah, Ding was the best player in the world at that time in my opinion.

In 2007, you think so? Just one ranking final so far that season, and he had walked out of the quarterfinal of the UK Championship just five weeks before.

Watched that break again and it's simple marvelous how he constructed it
The opening red is up there with Allen's black in the respot against Higgins.

Also Robbo's red to develop the black against Ronnie is also up there as shot of the championship.

Ronnie was so pumped up after his win and in the post-.match interviwe and rigthly so.
He just beat the best player atm and playing like a dream since the new tip... Love him or hate him, the boy is a true genious and maybe only him could have produced that standard of play after 2-1 down... MJW couldn't buy a pot in the Worlds last year against Ding after he changed his tip.

Ronnie
All the disappointment and anger from all the previous poor performances and these 3 final defeats against Trump, Higgins and Selby turned into joy and relief after turning it around in this match. It shows how much it means to him.

As well as Marco played Ronnie upped the Pressure and the cracks appeared.
the miss with the rest can happen but the Body Movement on the Blue to the middle was a tell tale sign of Marco Folding a bit under unbelievable pressure Ronnie was putting on him.

Yes the missed blue was the start. The red with the rest too, and that Snooker behind the brown he couldn't convert, maybe it rolled off not quite sure.
As you say though Ronnie put so much pressure on him since 2-1 down that he finally cracked.
Great match it was.

Yep, agree. Fu cracked towards the end. I don't think that Ronnie played perfect snooker but he played strong enough in the end to let Fu feel the pressure and make him miss those key balls which he didn't miss against Trump.

He was upset when Selby won The Crucible. He'd spent two days talking about bunnies.

Great match it was.
It definitely rolled off, it was almost half a ball to the right from where it was originally heading.
Don't forget though that it was a fluked plant which gave him the chance to roll up in the first place.

Ronnie deserves a title after losing 3 finals this season.

Cracking match. High quality and plenty of suspense. The misses didn't take away from either players performance and it was actually good to see Ronnie being the one applying the pressure against a player that's currently experiencing better form than he is.
The last time he played Fu in the UK he got lucky, today he was the better player.
Quite unbelievable that it was all after he changed his tip as well.
Also good to see his reaction as well, both immediately after the match and in the studio. Almost giddy. Deep down he still cares very much.
