Seems to be China's answer to Bingham/Hawkins/Mavis. Never really done anything before his mid thirties.

Only just seen that score DC! Bingtao is a well and truly excellent prospect, it's no surprise when he pushes top players.

Selby is out, it seems. That break was magnificent, especially the way the balls were.

Cracking long red to run round for the black near the end. Just stroked it in MJW-esque.

3 Top 16ers left.

Best of 7s are marmite. It's like playing Golf over 9 holes or football over 45 minutes.

Yan Bingtao is already a complete player at 17 and his first year as a pro.

Mei Xiwen also finished the job against Mark Allen (4-2).

From @ProSnookerBlog on Twitter

"That's Allen and Selby out, so looking like we will have just three of the top 30 in the last 16!.

Seeds into the last 16 so far: 31, 76, 42, 92, 5, 80, 13, 108, 52, 115, 55, 32, 79 and 68"

Selby out!

Anyone willing to give a quick summary of the match I was looking at the scores online and saw Yan made a frame winning break in the last frame. Great experience for this Chinese youngster.

Judd must be favourite now.

Yan beat Selby at his own game, tied him up with safety and Selby didn't have too many chances to score. When he did have a half chance he missed, probably due to be frozen off the table. Yan finish with something like a 91% safety success so that will put into perspective how strong he played. He had an outrageous fluke in the last frame on a yellow after porting the first red and landed plum on a red as well. But played the break beautifully and finished with a 99 break off it.

That's my summary anyway.

SNOOKER FAN WATCH!

Disappointed to see a whole new set of staff in the hotel. Staff was blinding last couple of years. No more fanciable Polish barmaid.

At what stage can Hawkins face Yan?
