There are many words to describe Colin Murray. Irish is one of them, British isn't.

During the victory ceremonies I was flicking between Snooker and Darts and Michael Van Gerwen was being presented with his trophy by a man dressed as the actual Mr Green logo.

Yesssssssssssssssss Mark!! The renaissance of class 92 is complete!
So happy he won a ranker after so many years. Those snookers Yan was laying had me worried so much though.

Yan has two more tournaments to break Ronnie's record.
Realistically speaking, he only has 1: the Scottish Open. It has a similar short format and he might benefit from top players losing early.
Don't think he can win the UK, it's a different kettle of fish altogether.

To be completely objective, if Mark hadn't missed that black, Yan would have had the chance to play on for snookers.

I think the German Masters is a few days before he reaches Ronnie's UK93 age. It was his best result last season.

He wont win the UK thats for sure (that would be just like Ronnie did).
He could win the Scottish one, or the German Masters, which is 2 weeks or so before his birthday.

Today was a golden opportunity. He may not reach another final again this season. Odds against that he will.

I've never bought into that sort of sappy nonsense.
Tonight Williams won, Yan lost. Simple as that.

Even if Bingtao had won here it wouldnt have come even close to what O'Sullivan did in 1993.
O'Sullivan at the age of 17 won the UK by beating the likes of McManus,Doherty, Davis in bo17 matches and then obviously prime Hendry in a bo19 final.

Do you think O'Sullivan is near to his best at the moment?

Mentally tougher than ever.
At his peak? no, his peak probably came between 2001-2005.
But he's good enough to give strong performances to win titles thats a certainty.

That remains one of the best runs to a title. Davis was still playing great then and winning titles.

I disagree.
I love tennis. And snooker. That’s it though. No football. Always picked last for the team. Put me off

Loved this final. Loved it. I was too engrossed to post and packing up my room in the breaks. And yes thank you snookerfan you lovely man, we went for a walk round Victoria Park and had coffee at the pavilion on the lake in the beautiful winter sun. Got back at 1pm just in time for it to start ;)

Can't we just enjoy a new young talent on the scene, without continually mithering how he compares to Ronnie?
