Happened in Britain actually mate ;-)

Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not part of Britain.

I always thought that “Britain” and hence “British” could mean the UK or Great Britain.

It does. Geographically, NI isn’t part of “Great Britain”, but the term still applies.

If you see yourself as Irish, you're Irish. If you see yourself as British, you're British. Simple as.

"British" is a slightly different case because it does refer to UK nationality and not just people who live on Great Britain (indeed, Northern Ireland is still on the British Isles so it works from that point of view.)

Gibraltar and the Falklands for example are called British Overseas Territories because they are governed by the UK.

Great Britain though is the largest of the British Isles and doesn't include Northern Ireland (or the Isle of Wight etc) <ok>

No one cares. Sorry.

While in the merry month of May, now from me home I started
Left, the girls of Tuam were nearly broken-hearted
Saluted father dear, kissed me darling mother
Drank a pint of beer, me grief and tears to smother
Then off to reap the corn and leave where I was born
Cut a stout, black thorn to banish ghosts and goblins
A brand-new pair of brogues to rattle over the bogs
And frighten all the dogs on the rocky road to Dublin

I can hear the old sod calling me

its not easy to keep motivated at 8-0 up your on a hiding to nothing your expected to win but if the other guy comes back you see the embarrassing headlines after you lose.

Commentators always rave about Rickys scoring but he constantly runs outta position or misses a sitter, his safetys been his strong point in this match imo
