8-2 down v Higgins and he lost 9-8 once.
I dont know how you still alive after that.
Why would he have died?
Oh, I see.
Agreed.

Imagine if Williams' resurgence lasts as long as Ronnie's has.

Sickening for Gilbert as he put himself in the best possible position but just didn't have enough in the end.
What's the last time someone won a final from four frames back?

Williams gets to keep his world title.
Gilbert gets to keep his "best player never to win a ranker" title.

Gilbert's barely done anything wrong to be fair to him.
Apart from mess up a bunch of good opportunities when the match was at his mercy.

He should have cleared up at 9-7 and at 9-9 he had the balls at his mercy.
He cant complain he didnt have chances from 9-5 up. He had and blew them.

Robbo had to win 4 on the spin, MJW won 5 on the spin so there's a difference there.

He also should have won the frame at 9-5 but missed an easy red.

Doubt it.
But these last 9 months I dont think even his best fans could have predicted this.
He becomes WN2 now ahead of ROS doesnt he?

Although he did have chances it wasn't quite the same as Cao's meltdown against Robbo.

Wasn't Robbo 8-4 behind at one point? I don't remember.

Cao's meltdown was one of the worst I've seen.
Had that black to win the match and bottled it. Not to mention other golden chances.

I feel for Gilbert but he had chances. Not a meltdown, but he had chances nevertheless.
MJW proved what a true champ he is and kept the pressure on.
