Unlike Selby Robertson has to be near his best to compete.

I agree with your last statement, but not with the first half of your post. Robbo is a much better breakbuilder than Selbo, and even than Ding and Higgins. He's made 102 tons in a season, that says it all.

Apart from ROS, nobody has a higher peak form than Robbo. He's an amazing long potter, a great breakbuilder and he has a very solid safety and tactical play.
Robbo's underachieving comes from 2 main reasons:
-addiction to stupid video games and thus not enough focus on snooker practice;
- weak mental skills.

when you see Ronnie ask him to explain the art of breakbuilding to you because you obviously haven't got a clue.

its got nothing to do with century breaks its the way you do breaks.....a 70 or 80 can be done more skilfully than a simple 100.

In terms of breakbuilding, ROS, Hendry and Ding are the best for sheer cue ball control.

Robbo and Trump may have more centuries than Ding, but Ding is a master at breakbuilding and how to see canons in a break.

It just depends on what sort of break you like.

Alex Higgins' 67 is widely regarded as the best break ever, but in many respects - particularly cue ball control - it was rubbish. It was bloody exciting in the context though.

One of my personal favourites is Selby's 143 at the 2017 WC. And that crazy Gould century.

However, the best ever break builder - the margins are too fine to call. You build great breaks off of great safety too.

Interesting. After us commenting that Yan was out of form, he thrashed Swissenbacher 6-0.

Jimmy's literally old enough to be his grandad.

Snooker is a great sport to watch when two great players are knocking bells out of each other. Young Sam Craigie is going 4 - 2 up on Dave Gilbert and there had hardly been a ball missed in six frames. #InternationalChampionship #Snooker

There is a difference between a Great Break and a Great Break-builder.

Well, of course.

A great break-builder complies great breaks.

That's like saying theres a difference between great snooker and a great snooker player.

I assume what Wild is trying to say is you don't necessarily have to be a great break-builder to compile a great break. Case in point being the 69 from Higgins.

Alex Higgins was nowhere near a Great Breakbuilder but his 69 is widely regarded as one of the best breaks.

A Great Breakbuilder makes simple breaks.

if Ronnie was a slow player making his type of breaks nobody would bat an eyelid because most pots are simple pots.
