:trumpet:  :-D

you were saying ...

Very nice of you to comment on one of my comments. :-D

Many congrats to Stephens best mate. <ok>

I just n only watched the closing stages of the 4th frame.

What a brown Selt missed and what a pink John missed to level the match!. :dizzy:

And what a crackin pink Matt potted, then black to end up pinchin the frame by 1 pt.

Of course,i,m at least a wee bit disappointed that John lost, would,ve been a great chance to add to his silverware, but in saying that,he still would,ve of course had to go on n win another match, the final.

I,m pleased for Matt though, what a chance he has to win his 1st ever ranking tourney.

interestingly lyu's name in chinese is吕昊天,

the glyph 天, or tiān, means day.

so the joke may sort of work in this case.

So, can we call Tian (Pengfei) China's response to Ryan Day?

not quite i don't think even though they are 'spelt' the same in english it's actually a different word.

tian pengfei's name in chinese is 田鹏飞. here 田 is tián which means field as in a farm.

the key being the tone is different - represented by the accent on the a in the pinyin. so 天 (tiān) is first tone (flat), whereas 田 (tián) is second tone (rising).

though i'm far from an expert and have no idea how puns work over there. so who knows.
