Robertson couldn't beat a well past his best Higgins, got stuck on safety play with him and that slowed him down and it disrupted his fluency and we all know how he plays then...
He won't get a better chance than this for another world title for certain... ok he might have lost to Trump in the Final, this we'll never know, but llosing to Higgins with Higgins playing his C game most of the match is no excuse. Robertson will forever be stuck on 1.
GJ must feel pretty gutted, this was Robbo's chance and he blew it.

I wouldn't swap the 8 for another world title, but maybe 4 of them I would. What he's done this recent seasons has been remarkable, but it's a travesty Higgins has reached the one table setup 3 times since 2014 and Ronnie not even one.

I tend to agree, but if he can continue this season's form for another 5-10 years, it ain't a bad consolation prize

Here is the latest table following the quarter-finals. Included is a three point deduction for a Neil Robertson prediction.

I bet Robertson couldn’t even continue his form for another 3 years, let alone 5-10 years. He’s 37 years old as well and not that young anymore. Robertson in the form of his life couldn’t even beat this version of Higgins, lol at that

Exactly this.
If Robertson cant play this version of Higgins, he will never be World Champ again.

I tend to agree with your first three points. Not sure with the last one as Trump has still time on his side.
But another defeat in the final would be a massive body blow undoubtely as he'd be the only player next to Jimmy,Stevens and Carter to reach the final more than once and not win it yet

Someone has to win it though. I don’t see any immediate candidates for the WC title if all of the mentioned above never win again. Sure you can’t have your Dave Gilberts and Gary Wilsons every year

1. Couldn't agree less. Never write off Ronnie. How many times have we thought he was finished / in serious decline and then he wins 5 tournaments in a year.
2. No, he can sort it out. He's an amazing talent.
3. If he finished on 1, I will be amazed.
4. What a massive crock of sh*t. He's barely 30.
One thing I've learned this WC, I disagree with Johnny B on a lot of points!
