With the loss, Neil Robertson’s streak of consecutive finals ends at 4.

And if I’m not mistaken, Ronnie is now assured of ending the season at #1 in the rankings, which is no mean feat when you consider that he only played 8 ranking events this season and that he lost in the first round of the WSC…

Here's what we have learned from this year's WC:

1. ROS will never win another WC. EVER. He crumbles under the pressure and he's not trying his hardest.
2. Ding will never win any WC. He's mentally weak.
3. Robbo will be forever stuck on 1 WC. He's also mentally weak and can't handle the pressure. Despite being way more talented and despite the fact that his A game far surpasses that of Selbo, Selbo's toughness brought him way more success.
4. If Trump doesn't win it this year, he'll also never win it.

All likely, but only 2 is pretty certain imo.

Higgins will cut off one of his arms for another WC title. ROS won't even damage a finger nail for another WC.
Hence the difference in results.

This match was just super poor from Robertson. He managed to lose against a version of Higgins who won just 3 frames out of 23 in one visit.
On the other hand, he didn't get outplayed tactically all that much.

INNNNNNNNNNNCREDDDDIBBBBBBBLE!!!

 GREAT AULD JOHN HAGGIS ONCE AGAIN STUNS US ALL.

John played a mixed bag throughout the match,he played mostly pretty poor, mediocre but also played very good in spells,(short spells),but as he often does,he pulled out pots, great safetys, clearences at crucial moments in frames, when it really mattered.

Hard luck Robbo,he can,t complain though,as he had bucketfulls of chances too.

GREAT AULD JOHN HAGGIS,YES,YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS,YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Yet Ronnie continues to make number 1 and more money than anyone can on this one tournament.

Pretty sure he's sitting pretty right now.

In the words of Paul Hardcastle:

The average age of a Crucible winner in the 1990s was 24; in the 2020s it was 49! In the 2020s it was 49! In the 2020s it was 49!
