Another good win for Judd. He's been very sharp this week, which is impressive considering it's his first appearance since the WC. Two more centuries today, which puts him on 7 for the tournament so far.
Most importantly this win puts him back at WN1!

Gilbert is now 2 up with 3 to play. Can he finish Selby off?

Peak Selby would have been favourite to win from this position.

I still think Selby will win the match. You've got one of the biggest bottlers playing against one of the best comeback players.

Dream start to the season for Jak Jones.
This will go a long way to protecting his tour status

You may be right. Looks like a decider coming up.

Yeah that’s true, I just wonder how much of that is because he can tell himself he’s not the favourite?
As you say it’ll be interesting to see how he fares against them this season.

I would like to think Jack will be able to help with the psychological issues.
That's what he is there for.

Selby wins the decider, to nobodies surprise. Gilbert really is a massive bottler, and this is why he'll never win a title.

Selby won 6-5. How can that be a false score?

Gilbert genuinely must be in the Top3 of the biggest bottlers we've ever had in Snooker. There's no sign of improvement either.
You can just see from the look on his face how tense he is when the finishing line comes close. Its just hilarious. Even Ryan Day is a much better player under pressure . At least he's won some deciders with big breaks and in a impressive fashion.
I'm hoping for a Trump-Selby semifinal now.

Hard to argue with that. Should’ve won 6-3 and 6-4 but missed simple balls when Selby was handing him chances. Can’t see how Trump doesn’t win that half of the draw.

Gilbert is by far and away the biggest bottler in the game right now. The only player in the modern game that I can think of who's worse is Matthew Stevens, but it's close. At least Stevens actually won something, Gilbert never will.

Out of the four matches this afternoon, I'm hoping that Allen, Ding, Higgins and Murphy all win.

I watched all of Trumps matches this week.
He's undoubtely in his prime now. And it looks like he won't ease up with practice after winning the World Championship. He's one of the two biggest stars we have in Snooker.

I don't think that Gilbert was ever a top player like Stevens was at late '90s/early' 00s. He entered the top 16 for the first time in 2019. Wrong comparison.
