I don't think it's that ugly at all.

Some sort of plate.

I liked the Welsh Open slate.

The only good glass trophy is the Masters one.

It looks like something my mum would make in pottery class.

Maybe she did, and donated it to World Snooker?

She probably sold it to Hearn for a fiver, he does like a bargain.

Of course.

Every player should skip every tournament in the season and only play the World Championships.

Bit harsh VD but he does seem to specialise in lesser tournaments these days. I did not see the final of this tournament so cannot comment on the quality or lack of.

Not to say he could not win major events of course - I am sure there will be more meaningful victories to come in the future.

I saw some of it on youtube this evening and it was mainly Murphy throwing away frames as he usually does against O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan's greatest asset these days is that quite a few players just cannot seem to produce anything decent against him. A standard just above average would be enough to account for O'Sullivan. He won't get away with this mediocrity for much longer.

You surely must be joking right?

Specialise in lesser tournaments? Ronnie is winning pretty much every big event bar the World Champs, namely UK, Masters, and Players and Tour Champs, this last one of the biggest ever and with the longest frame format apart from the World Champs.

I certainly wouldnt call these tournaments lesser events.

Yeah, like the UK Championship.

I often find Ronnie's off table antics annoying and childish as well, but to pretend that makes him a lesser player is childish also.

Well - I should have specified ranking, but you can't say somebody wins pretty much all the big events bar the World Champs (and I presume you meant Masters). They are the two biggest events.

Ronnie has won more Triple Crown titles than any other player in history. He's 43 years old and his B-game is still good enough to beat the top players. What a bum.

Yeah - it was a bit of a dig I suppose.

I do think he is overdue a WC or Masters win to stay at the top table, but to be clear I don't think he is a lesser player. Trump has the future in his hands atm, but there is life in ROS yet.

I mean, he is 43 and will stop winning stuff at some point. That's just inevitable. Nobody is debating Judd has a bright future ahead of him, as well.

I know a lot of people on here have written off his Crucible chances now. I haven't, per se. In that I think he can still win it, but it depends if he has the motivation. That's what I think may be lacking, not his ability to win it.

Personally, I think Ronnie could still be winning titles in his early 50s if he wanted to. But again, it depends on his desire.

On a serious note, there is of course no reason why he can't win another WC.

His confidence must have been knocked after the WC but this win will be the perfect antidote. He is very likely to win more rankers this season.

I think the coming season (at the top end) will pivot on Judd's consistency and Neil's return to form - if it is not a false dawn.

Selby looks beat atm.

How did Robertson's tip break affect him?
