Rooting for Smurph but I think it will be a 7th ranking final loss in a row. Not seen how MJW's playing but can't see him missing some of the pots Selby did today.

A couple of interesting little facts:
- Williams had yet to make a century this tournament, just like Higgins when he made the final here last year
- Murphy’s opponents in 3 consecutive finals are ranked No 1, 2, 3 in the world

By his own admission Williams is in the final mostly with his C game.

He’s actually trying though these days, unlike in the past

Yeah. Should have beaten Luca and White.

Can Smurf break the curse I say ?
In the words of our own King of Posts:
Discuss.
I say Smurf wins it, he's been playing better than Willo.

No, but I did have a bag of McCoys.
I meant to post this in the Boxing thread in Sports, if a mod wants to move it.

Good Final.
Both very evenly matched.
I think MJW will win, Murphy might start well but his past Final demons might haunt him.

Ash, how is your pursuit of SF's post count going ? Are you on track to beat him ?

I still remain a long way behind him. For a while I was averaging more posts per day than he was, but he has overtaken me there.

The Mars bar is the key to SF's power. Take it away from him and his posts count will decrease drastically.

On form alone, it should be Murphy winning no question. I hope Willo find a way though

Murphy wasn't so good against Selby. It's strange, but Selby made many tactical mistakes and offered him easy chances. But I want him to win, after so many lost finals.
