Not sure, never thought of it like that. I think of a trade as being something useful, like plumber, electrician, corgi registered gas installer, etc. I guess an actor could pretend to do things like that but I wouldn't pay them.

In the US at least, actors who star in series and films work extremely long hours.

I know, same here in the UK and elsewhere, I was being a bit facetious. Just don't really hear people refer to it as a trade these days, or do they? (Great thing about forums like this is you can always learn something new.)
