Jimmy will not beat Ronnie, but saying that he has a slight chance only because of the short format in the first round.

Ronnie will blitz him. Jimmy will hardly get a shot.

I remember in 1989, it was the first time my parents let me stay up to midnight to see the new year in.
I watched a TV show with Cilla Black saying goodbye to the 1980s.
Rock And Roll.

In 1989 I was watching Batman - with Michael Keaton.
Is he in this tournament too by any chance?

I don't think anybody was suggesting that everybody who was alive in 1989 should be in this final, to be fair.
Then literally everybody above the age of 30 would be in it.

Bingham v Higgins a toss of a coin again.... probably favour Higgins just.
Jimmy will be lucky if his pal Ronnie gifts him a frame.

Finally, we reach the day when the tournament gets under way.
Looking forward to Jimmy versus Ronnie, should be a good one. It's always a special occasion when those two meet regardless of where they are at in their respective careers.

SNOOKERFAN INSOMNIA UPDATE!
I am absolutely knackered. My head hurts.
If it's Ronnie vs Higgins tonight, I might try to struggle through a few frames before crashing.
If it's any other combination, I might get straight into bed. Try for the impossible of getting a good night's sleep. Keep myself fresh for Friday night's semi-final.

Do you sleep this badly when you go to tournaments?

In Crawley, I slept better than I did in my own bed.
I used to always be knackered in tournaments, but that's because I'd come straight out of the match into the bar and would stay there all night. Watched a lot of snooker hungover. Have slowed down the past couple of years. Should've done it sooner.

Nah, it's the fact I get back pains and struggle to get comfortable in bed.
Unless Freddy Krueger is coming out of the telly and putting me in a Boston Crab, I don't see the connection.

This will probably be the last time ever that Ronnie and Jimmy meet in a televised match. Savour it.
