In fact he's the one who plays back to back sessions, on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Always the same every year, never made any sense.

Yes I have never understood the back to back sessions on Wednesday, it's been happening for so long and I don't know why they do that.

What motivates the wonderful drama of the last 8:

Trump - seriously has a point to prove this year after nearly a whole year of moaning about so many people not respecting his natural talent. No other player has put their prestige so much out in the open and on the line that Judd.

Wilson - Will be determined to prove that last year was no fluke and that he hasn't missed his chance at the title. No excuses this year as there's no Ronnie to be intimidated by. He feels his time should be about now and, on paper, he shouldn't be afraid of any of the remaining players.

McGill - Is without doubt still fuming about last year's semi-final and being so close but so far from a final. The sense of determination literally drips from his every sweat bead this year. A grudge-match final between him and Kyren would be the surprise package no-one expected but everyone secretly would love.

Williams - He's very much the man of the moment. Not only has he reinvented his game but he's reinvented snooker and has been recently winning tournaments since this change. He would absolutely love to beat his fellow countryman Reardon's record of oldest ever World Champion.

Bingham - The ball-run can never be discounted. He's the guy who's managed to squeeze through the draw without playing any top eight seeded players and still has a great opportunity to continue this all the way to the final and, as he's well aware and fully experienced with, anything can happen in a final whoever you face.

Selby - Oh how much would he absolutely love a 4th title. Especially after last year. What a fantastic way to silence those critics and put to bed all that drama from last year than to just pile-drive your way to a monumental and undeniably awesome 4th title.

Robertson - He's getting one year older every year, this is his last year of being in his 30s, he'll be an old pro next year, and he still only has one final appearance to his name. Much like Jimmy white, both him and his fans can't keep saying 'next year for sure'. It's not quite now or never, but it also kinda is, or it's another year of damaged prestige as he moves into the 40-zone.

Murphy - After a truly terrible season, one in which he hasn't even got to a single ranking final, not seen from him since 2009/2010, and very much in danger of plummeting out of the top 10 if he doesn't perform well at this event, there's no-one else riding that Last Chance Saloon vibe quite like Murphy this year. And his ego would very much love to get a 2nd title before Judd and Robertson!
