This is Joe Perry's 6th ranking event final. His first was way back in 2001.

How is the year I turned 21 now considered "way back"?
You sure it wasn't last week?

Me too.
Not the most interesting of finals, though. Is it?

Although Perry has won a regular ranking title and 2 minor ranking titles and a non-ranking title, he's never won a multi-session final. His tournament victories have so far been:
3-1
4-3
4-1
4-1
The most recent one being March 2015.
So it's quite remarkable that Perry's odds of winning are only just slightly better than 3/1.
It's been quite a weird tournament so far, but a Perry win would surely be the weirdest yet.

I don't mind Gentleman Joe but can only see him getting rolled here.
An obligatory "C'mon Joe!" but this final holds no interest for me.

You're perhaps right, I hadn't realised.
I was quite the Trump fan a couple of years ago, but I was put off him a bit by his moaning. I still enjoy watching him play, and probably want him to win against about 60% of the tour.

I'm guessing the final won't actually start properly untill 13:20-13:25, BBC Wales coverage starts at 13:15.
