Come on Mark! He has such as poor record against Ronnie though.
I can see Ronnie winning this match very comfortably. I'm going to say 10-5.

Until 2003 MJW had a pretty good record against Ronnie.
But for some reason after that it started to decline and going downhill for him. He's only had one big win that I remember, at the International Champs 6-5 in 2015 or something like that. Ronnie has just owned him.

11-7 Ronnie up to 2003

Quite insane that MJW has only one win over Ron in a proper match over the last 20 years which was the International Championship quarters in 2014. His other 2 or 3 wins came at the CL.

That's still pretty good.
Ronnie is the better player, it's obvious he would have a better h2h. But since 2003 my word MJW really hasn't done anything.

MJW could somehow win, but need a lead after the first session.

In a lot of their recent multi-session matches, MJW makes a good go of it early on. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see this go close.

Somehow Ronnie manages to bring his best game when he faces Williams. It's not very often that Willo plays badly and loses, as happens with Robbo against O'Sullivan.

The 2020 world championship Quarter final match was pretty decent between both of these players.

Williams had him by the ballbag. Let him slip.

all of their WC matches have been decent imo. Yes, Ron won all of them but the quality was pretty good. And 2006,2010,2020 was pretty competitive actually.

Watching this on Matchroom.live.
They are showing video of the Arena. You can hear the ITV studio stuff but it's on very low volume, and the noise from the crowd including frequent coughing is turned up very high.

You could tell from that interview Ronnie takes pride in returning to WN1, especially at 46 years old.

The sea rolled and yawned, grey skies above darkened, and once again the crowd gathered, mumbled and grew.
“Is that ‘er?”
“I dunno mate, she’s leanin’ on them waves”
“Top heavy cargo?”
“Aye. Gorra be ‘er, ant it?!”
“Phwooaarr”
