The referees always ref to the speed of the player, at least if you're a good enough referee.

Most important thing is to always position yourself the correct way, and then you should have no problems to do your job the speed of the player.

It's usually beneficial to establish an underdog so that neutrals and new viewers can more easily find interest in a match that otherwise might not be of very great interest.

There are many other factors which provide interest, but rooting for the underdog comes very high in the charts of 'what makes something more interesting'.

But, no, not all matches have to have an underdog, and you are free to state if you don't think there is one. It is a reply option. As you then did.
