Positioning lines

Postby oOoscottyo0o

Hi, this is my first time on a forum site so please go easy on me.
I’ve been playing snooker since I was 10. But have taken It seriously for the last 2 years. In break building. I have heard about getting the white ball on the right line for your next pot which gives you a bigger margin for error. I have searched the internet and YouTube for more info on this but am unable to find what I’m looking for.
I really hope someone can help me with this.
Many thanks in advance.
S.

Hi there and welcome!

I wonder if it means 'line' as in 'line and length' that the commentators on TV use?

If it is that, then it means the direction that the cueball takes after impact with the cueball. So, as long as the pot is successful then you need to concentrate only on the direction that the cueball takes and how far it travels (as long as we are not getting into swerve shots etc.

I've been playing ages. Often, I find that if I concentrate a bit less hard on the potting angle and more on the direction the cueball will travel then I make far more decent breaks.

I am sure there will be more knowledgeable people on here who can help further.

Have fun
