anyone point me in the right direction and where the best place is to find decent quality dvds of classic matches.
are there any dedicated websites specialising in them or do you just have to take your chances on ebay?

I have bought some decent stuff from ebay, but it is of course a bit of a lottery as there is no money back guarantee. They are generally pretty cheap to buy and there is a good selection of stuff on offer.
My best buy is probably Higgins vs White from the 1985 UK.
But I also bagged the Higgins vs Davis 83 UK final.
Classic viewing for any snooker nut.

There are quite a few Higgins/White pictures too last time I looked. From the 82 SF match.
Do you mean you bought the Davis/Higgins 83 final....
I thought about buying a White DVD that had been compiled of his Mercantile win vs Thorburn, but it stated clarly that the quality of the recording was not perfect so it put me off to be honest.

I think with the big gap between the China Open and now, I may take the opportunity to watch some old DVDs. I also bought the Ronnie Bad Boy DVD from ebay and a few others, with the world doubles being one of them. Never watched it since I bought it.

It is about Ronnie O'Sullivan. Shows him talking about snooker and some footage. Also shows him driving around in a BMW.... its not a bad DVD. Also shows some classic 147s and some classic 147 misses I think from mammory.
