You're the man for stats and patterns Skull, but of those 4 years since his last win, this is by far his best chance of winning his 3rd UK title and equal Higgins on that number.

Unbelievable, in which position he is, isn't it. :hatoff: If someone had told me after the 2011 world that Ronnie is going to win the world two more times I had asked him which drugs he is taking. And to defend the World is even more special. Any more World titles would be a bonus for me really, he has done enough in his career and should enjoy his life. But 6 would be nevertheless amazing though, to have the same amount of World Titles with the legendary Steve Davis, who dominated the sport.

In yesterday's group final the overall standard was better but this fightback from Ronnie was just truly inspirational - some of the shots he potted to force the decider were just superb.

O'Sullivan is in a very good place mentally at the moment and this win will give him also a lot of confidence. Whatever happens now, Ronnie can go into the UK Champs pleased.

How do you think he would be if he won this tourney against Selby coming from behind? :-D In a way, that could be bad for him as he could think he had already done enough by beating his favourite player on tour. <laugh>

Ronnie will save that successful comeback against Selby for the next year's World final.

Yeah agree, I won't go that far as to say he'll beat hendry's record because age is not on his side, even though he can still be at the top of his game for another 3 or 4 years if he truly wants to. I'd say at best he'll equal Hendry, but if he got to 6 that would be awsome as well. I don't really care to be honest, he has nothing else to prove and he's jjust enjoying it, and ironically when Ronnie is just enjoying it and not caring much about if he wins or loses that's when he's more dangerous.

There are a lot of trophies to be won this season and I'm certain Ronnie will at least win one full ranker or even better a major or best of all defend the Worlds yet again.

His game isn't firing on all cylinders yet but I'm sure that will improve in the next months.

I know. In 2010/11 it looked like he lost the love for the game, his bottle and even his touch. But I think we all underestimated him back then. With the help of Dr. Peters he turned it all around and surpassed his great foe John Higgins. The only question remaining - can he surpass Hendry?

I know what you mean, he missed some balls you wouldn't normally expect him to miss but on the flip side he showed good guts to stick with and then pip Ding. Flip of a coin at the end. I liked McManus suggestion at 5-3, Ding had the chance to win 6-3 but missed a trick, if he'd potted pink on blue spot then held the spot he'd have had a red to corner, he just didn't think of it and played a bad shot instead. That was costly.

Well, I think, it's very clear that at the age of almost 38 you don't have many more years to play Snooker at the highest level. But I think, in Ronnies case he still has another 2-3 years to play at the highest level and to win tournaments. But I mean, he has won so much and won two worlds, by defending it, at that age an unbelievable thing.
As I wrote, I think, he has already done enough in his career , anymore would be a bonus. It would be great if he's reaching 6 or even 7 world titles, but it wouldn't be a desaster if he stays at 5.

To be honest no because I watched on Sky+ and started late so the temptation to hit x6 overwhelmed me so I could catch up with the chat. I thought both players were below par but it had a good finish. I'd have enjoyed it more if I'd seen it live.
