Ding will be interesting to watch tomorrow. Day 1 belongs to Ronnie. The Rocket has first stage lift-off gentlemen. Amen.

Ronnie's not playing until Saturday though, so lots of other interesting matches to look for.
Cope v Murphy, Day v Mags and Carter v Xiao will be very interesting final sessions.
White v Selby could also be a cracker.
Alan v Higgins for the purists like in the 90s.

And of course I want to see how well Kyren copes with all this, I think he'll do well and may even upset Walden.
Fu v Gouldy also has potencial to be a great match.

Ronnie will be playing on Thursday again. But that's the great thing about being defending champion, be the first man through to the next round and watch the other guys sweat it out while taking a break.

By the way:
If Ronnie beats Perry/Burnett, he'll have won the exact same amount of matches at the Crucible as Steve Davis (68 matches). Only Hendry has more (79 matches).

That is an incredible stat SO considering Steve won 6 World Titles and more importanly played at the Crucible far more times than Ronnie.

But for me the stat I was very surprised was that one Neil Foulds brought up, Mavis in 187 frames played at the Crucible has never made a century, of course he's not the most prolific breakbuilder out there but you would still expect in so many frames played to be at least 1 ton in there, but no
Of course having said all this he might make one this year.

Is there any point watching for the next four days now that the King has left the building? Ground control is a bit boring when the Rocket has already lifted off.

Well there is a point if you're a fan of Snooker and not only a fan of 1 player.

Bingham hasn't been the same player since he lost that UK semi final. And again he's struggling here against one of the easier qualifiers.
