I feel bad for Ding. That fluke was terrible.
But well done Wasley.

One of the best final frames in a long time. Classic stuff. Congrats to Mr Wasley. Ding threw everything at him but it wasn't enough.

Just to be clear: I'm not happy because Ding got knocked out but because I really really like this Wasley guy. I hope this run is not a fluke.

Hope Wasley pushes on, prefer him to most newcomers I've seen.
Devastated for Ding... that was so cruel.

It was yeah, but Ding is a top guy and congratulated Wasley there.
Ding threw everything he could, but it just wasn't enough.

Ill have to watch that decider again and in particular where that last red would have landed had it not gone in the left middle, I reckon it would have been on for Ding.
Of course we'll never be 100% sure but that is a bad way to lose, but that's Snooker, it's not like 8 ball Pool for instance where that would have been a foul.

What an unbelievable decider that was. Better than all the ones we had so far combined!

Had Ding been on top form he probably would have made one break to win the final frame. He couldn't get away from Wasley. Wasley's break to make it 9:9 was amazing. It was up there with the very best I've seen at the WC.

In hindsight, well it wasn't hindsight it was clear at the time he should have rolled in behind the last red. Would have fancied him to drop it in.

I think it really helped Wasley that he already had to play 2 deciders to get here. Especially against Milkins he was basically out. That awesome respotted black he potted there was a sign for the great things to come...

That's why I love Snooker, even though the quality of the top players hasn't been that great so far, the drama has been absolutely incredible. Four deciders in two days, is just brilliant.
The final frame in the Ding v Wasley match has to be one of the best I've seen, that was compelling viewing, that's what Snooker is all about...incredible congrats to Michael.

...and surprise surprise Ding Junhui loses before the quarter-finals...again!
This is NOT a big shock, because it's happened every year bar twice.
BTW that sound you heard when Wasley fluked the last red is the sound of loads of money that's keeping snooker afloat in the east going down the drain.

How many other players would have been so warm in defeat after losing to a fluke

Yes, Ding was sportsmanlike. It was great entertainment but feel gutted for the Chinese each time Ding loses early and I knew it would be hard this year with the burden of expectation.

Fu is my last favourite with a real chance of winning now unless Gilbert or Perry win it.

He's had a great season nonetheless. He was unlucky there, he can't beat himself up after what happened in this final session, he did nothing wrong.

Ding may join the 'Jimmy White club' - an amazing player destined never to win the WC. I dunno, Ding might lack that extra level of concentration needed to win this 17 days long tournament. Just the impression I get. Winning smaller events doesn't compare to the mental toughness of the WC.

Way Ding conducted himself at the end was terrific. He's not a sulker anymore. Dominance this year has been incredible.
Can't see him going into reverse. Still plenty of time for it to happen.

I just hope Wasley doesn't get knocked out next round...
And it's nothing to do with Ronnie having an easy draw or whatever, but wouldn't it be great if we had a semi between Wasley and Ronnie...
