We aren't going to convince each other.
You do give yourself a chance though. I don't see how that's debatable.

Maybe he had snookeritis? He declined sharply at a young age and was gone from the tour before he was 40.
Yeah, thought that was weird too, he won't even go near a cue while the others are messing around, it's not like it's competitive or anything.

Haha I guess not.
It’s a chance but it’s not a definite chance.

Well yeah, obviously.
But a respot is basically a 50/50 chance every time. If you get a chance to lay a great snooker you can give yourself a 80-90% chance of at least being able to win the frame.
With the chances that was there to lay a telling snooker id say go for Snookers there was 2 or 3 chances to put lisowski in deep rubbish

By definite chance I meant that the points are equal in a respot. With playing for snookers your relying on your opponent to miss and can't mathematically win the frame.

Carter could still have mathematically won the frame by the time he was down to the last red (including an eventual respot).

I only saw the black ball fight, I didn't see the clearance. So maybe if I saw the table I would change my mind. Just seems negative to play for a snooker if you don't have to.

Next match will tell if he's capable to. If he somehow gets to his 2017 level he can truly win this. Dont think Selbo is good enough this year to possibly stop him in a semifinal again.

I feel sorry for younger players like Cahill who might not be able to pay for the use of SightRight (TM).
It seems that it makes for an uneven playing field in many ways.

Lol, I got lucky today as kids went back to school and missus had a few minutes to spare...I hate school holidays, I had to wait 2 weeks...that's neglect in my book.

What did he say?
That lisowski has “10 times more talent” than him. Similar to last night but less obvious. 10 times more seems like a lot though
Even if it's true, it doesn't really matter. Lisowski is proof that talent on it's own isn't enough.
Lisowski just doesn't have the mental side to the game that Dott has.
Lisowski will need to get his act together a lot to be World Champion. Dott has already done it.
